heather's amazing stuff

We were both feeling a bit lazy today. Rob was not feeling up to par so we did not do too much.

Rob has a tradition of going to a movie in every country he visits. So...that night, we went to dinner at this cool restaurant called "Cube" (although the glass of wine we got w/the meal wasn't that great) where I got this really good lamb burger (I was in heaven w/the amount of lamb they served).



And then you can see where this is going...we went to see a movie. The movie prices were comparable. I think we paid $14 Australian dollars each, but with the exchange rate, that made it about the same as what we'd pay in the states. The movie theater was huge. The theaters were bigger than what we're used to here. It reminded me of the big screening room at Mann's Chinese. We ended up seeing "Hitchhiker's Guide" and were disappointed with the changes they'd made as we both saw the movie in an initial test market screening. They took out a few integral parts so that some areas lost the total joke.

Anyhow, this was not supposed to be a review of a movie...it's a review of our time in Sydney! After the movie, we headed to Woolworths, yes I said Woolworths, which became our last stop every night till we discovered Coles which is one of their grocery stores. We got some water and "Solo"--this cool lemonade drink that we discovered from seeing an add on the outside of the monorail system as well as on some bus sides, and then back to our hotel.
